In 2001, C.W. Moeliker published his findings in the zoological
publication Deinsea magazine, where he scientifically recounted
observations of a 1995 incident in which a mallard duck crashed into
the mirrored windows of the Natuurmuseum Rotterdam, died, and then was
raped for 72 minutes by another male mallard. Though necrophilliac
behavior has been previously documented among ducks, this was the
first recorded case of homosexual necrophilia in the species.
